JJJJLOOKING FOR READERS!!!JJJJ
In 2003, I submitted a short story for an anthology, The Many Faces of Van Helsing. Based on encouraging feedback from the editor, I launched into writing my first novel. So.... thirteen years later, I have finished my first draft. Actually it is about the twentieth draft, but that is another story. Anyhow, it is time to give it its first public airing. The novel could be labeled a sequel to Bram Stoker's Dracula. Stoker wrote an epilogue to his famous tale, and it is from that note that I have created a whole new generation of players, along with some of the old. (We cannot leave out Dr. Van Helsing!)I have remained true to the original tale, and did not find it restrictive in any way. I remember when I first read Dracula that my thought then was; what if the Count's death did not wipe out all trace of his influence? After all, Mina did drink of his blood. And so, that is where I begin. This is my first outing, so, I may not follow standard procedures; if there are any; however, I do know what I need.I need readers who are always looking for that special book that is easy to read, keeps you engaged, and doesn't contain too many boring or irrelevant passages. I want to tell a story, and anything that impedes or distracts from that story, I would like to eliminate. So, I can only offer any potential reader a good story, at a basic level, and a better story if you decide to join me in my effort by commenting on any aspect of the story. My plan is to post, at a minimum, 3000 words per week. That is because I have a hard time 'letting go', and I don't want to promise what I can't deliver. But, I intend to do better than the 3000.So, if you decide to join me, and can handle a 'serialized' novel, (think soap opera or Charles Dickens), then I would love to have you as part of my team.If you want to be notified when a new post is available, please follow via email.

Readers, do not feel obligated to comment. But, if my writing is unclear, confusing, and/or contradictory THAT is what I need to know. If a passage is boring, or irrelevant, do let me know. I am purposely withholding comments from the blog, as I do want my readers, if any do decide to comment, not to be sidetracked by another's comments. Rest assured, all will be read by me.
